• Welcome!

As you look around we hope you will get to know us and perhaps join us for worship.

Here at Oak Hills, we are interested in you. We want to include you in fulfilling our mission which is to “Glorify God by Making Disciples of all People.” Since we all have room to grow, we provide opportunities to grow in your relationship with God whether you have been a follower of Jesus for a short or a long time.

If there is anything we can do to help you grow in your relationship with God, please give us a call at 940-464-3270 or e-mail us at info@oakhillsfreechurch.com. We are here to help.

    Warmly,

    Pastor Mark (& Debbie) Piland

Where you are today is no accident.  God is using the situation you are in right now to shape you and prepare you for the place He wants to bring you into tomorrow.  Trust Him with His plan, even if you don’t understand it.

    LIFE GROUP KICKOFF

The Life Group Kickoff will be held right after church on Sunday, September 21.  Lunch will be served and everyone is welcome.  Be sure to mark your calendar as to not forget this very important event!

    PRAY WITH THE ELDERS

As you are aware, the Elders are continuing to pray every Saturday morning asking God to bless our church, leading us in the direction He sees fit for the church and its growth.  Please remember to set this time aside to pray with them.

    DON’T FORGET THIS GETAWAY

Plan to travel with the women of the church for a weekend getaway this fall to the District Women’s Retreat just south of Austin on October 10-12.  Melanie Newton will be teaching from Ephesians and asking the question, “What’s in Your Treasure Chest?”  The cost is $99 by October 6Th, $125 thereafter, if you stay on site.  Cost is $75 if you choose to stay in a local hotel.  See the poster on the bulletin board for more details.

    PRAISES & PRAISES

Thanks to Mark, Art M, and Don H. for the wonderful music they provided on Sunday.  Thanks also for all the visitors who joined us, especially Don H’s Special guests all the way from Japan.  Let’s be sure to welcome every guest we have to make them feel at home.

When the Spirit of Christ whispers to your troubled heart, “seek His face,” don’t delay.  This is what is called a prompting or a nudging of the Spirit.  He is telling you what to do.  Seek Him in Word and through prayers.  The peace that surpasses all understanding will be yours when you hear him whisper, in return, “All is well.”  (Joni Eareckson Tada)

    PRAY WITH US

Remember to pray with Anne Graham Lotz onSeptember 1 for Jerusalem.  Kelly Ray needs prayer for healing as does our visitor – Jean Ann.  Cindy G. is experiencing an allergic reaction and is concerned about returning to school.  Dr. Tommy ice is recovering from heart surgery.  Marilyn’s sister-in-law is having back surgery and is in a great deal of pain.  Gary Rabe’s son Clint needs continued prayer to find the Lord.  Pray for all those who are traveling that they will have a safe journey.  Remember also to pray for all the prisoners, persecuted Christians and others in the Middle East, Israel, and Ukraine that they can find peace.

    GOBBLE-GOBBLE

We are already thinking of Thanksgiving and Ralph & Babette have volunteered to head up our dinner on November 16.  They have received some offers of help but are still in need of people willing to help serve and clean-up (ugh!!).  If you would like to help, please see Babette at church.  Also, there will be a sign-up sheet on the table at the back of the sanctuary to sign for attendance at the dinner.  Money will not be collected until sometime in October but they do need an approximate count of attendees.

    PRAY WITH THE ELDERS

Our Elders are continuing their 7:00 AM Saturday prayer time.  We encourage everyone to take the time to pray with them also.  In the near future we will be having some group prayer times scheduled at the church and all will be invited to join with them.

    BIBLE STUDY WEDNESDAY NIGHT

What a blessing it is for us to have Tommy Ice to teach our 7 PM Bible study.  Last week he concluded his synopsis of the Old Testament and this week will begin an in depth study of the book of Ezekiel.  You won’t want to miss this great opportunity.
