Welcome!
As you look around we hope you will get to know us and perhaps join us for worship. Here at Oak Hills, we are interested in you. We want to include you in fulfilling our mission which is to “Glorify God by Making Disciples of all People.” Since we all have room to grow, we provide opportunities to grow in your relationship with God whether you have been a follower of Jesus for a short or a long time.
If there is anything we can do to help you grow in your relationship with God, please give us a call at 940-464-3270 or e-mail us at info@oakhillsfreechurch.com. We are here to help.
Warmly,
Pastor Mark (& Debbie) Piland

Church Outreach
Part of our goal as a church is to reach out into our communities; make contacts and build relationships with others. In time we hope these will develop into opportunities to further the discipleship process. But it often begins with making contacts and developing friendships with folks in our communities. So… we invite your feedback. Do you have any suggestions on how we can begin to reach out into Argyle and surrounding areas? ~Pastor Mark
50th Anniversary Celebration
You are invited to celebrate 50 years of marriage with Dick and Kathy Emery onSaturday, May 18, 2013, anytime from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon at Oak Hills Community Church. They request no gifts be brought, but cards are welcome. Check the invitation that is posted on the church bulletin board for more information.
Volunteer Request
Ana Garcia will not be available to serve in the nursery this Sunday, May 19. If you would be willing to help in the nursery on Sunday, please contact Joyce Hughes to let her know that you can help (214-289-3727).
Calling All Youth
We will be doing a youth event called “The Thing” right after church on Sunday, May 19. Lunch for teens will be provided. Fun activities to follow.
Summer Kickoff for Women’s Outreach
Women, teens and up—you’re invited to a ”Summer Kickoff” Luncheon to discuss outreach after church on Sunday, June 2 in the fellowship hall. Enjoy visiting and talking through ways we can intentionally engage the nonbelievers around us this summer. Please stay and join us! The men can enjoy their own BBQ lunch together at Rudy’s.
Graduation Sunday
On Sunday, June 9, we will be celebrating the accomplishments of our four high school graduates AND our college graduate.
This year’s high school graduates are:
- Abigail Croxton
- Ellen Goetz
- Alex Ray
- Justin Wilburn
Our college graduate is:
- Morgan Goetz, who is graduating from Texas A&M!
Congratulations to all of our graduates!
Gary Ray is asking that each graduate contact him with their two favorite songs that we sing for worship, and he will try to incorporate some of them into the service on that day.
For Alex Ray
As part of Alex’s commemorative items, I have placed a photo album on the table at the back of the Sanctuary. Rather than purchasing a graduation card, we would really appreciate your providing a family photo (up to 4″x6″) on which you write a message (words of wisdom, a verse, guidance, well wishes, etc.). If you do not want to write on the back of a photo, note cards will be available in the decorative graduation cap sitting next to the album. Feel free to bring one home and bring it back by Graduation Sunday, June 9th.
This will be a great way for Alex to remember his extended family in years to come.
Thanks,
Kelly
Couch Needed
Since Morgan Goetz has recently graduated from college, she is setting up her first apartment. If you have a sofa that you are thinking of selling, could you let her or Cindy know? She’d really appreciate it. 940-566-1375 or jcgoe@verizon.net
Fixing the Basketball Game
Is there someone who would be willing to look at the basketball game in the gym and see if it could be fixed? We would like to repair it, if possible.
Too Many Vacuum Cleaners
We have too many vacuum cleaners in the closet at church. If you’d like a working, used vacuum cleaner, please talk to Dick Emery.
Items Needed for Children’s Program
If anyone has any extra children’s Bibles or translations that are easily understood by children (like the NIV) that can be donated to the children’s program, please bring them and give them to either Jennifer Lewis or Joshua Milligan. Also, we are collecting toilet paper rolls, paper towel rolls, paper plates, and other craft supplies for the children’s ministries. If you have any of these items, please bring them to Jennifer Lewis or Joshua Milligan.
Wednesday Night Study
On Wednesday nights, Dave Simpson will be teaching a multi-week study on “Mormonism in Depth.” Please join us at 7:00 p.m. for our study.
